COVID-19 UPDATE
The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as you can imagine, has put active aspects of this project "on hold".
However, please continue to send us your ideas for projects and activities.
BRIDGES.lu went live on 1st February 2020 - the day that the UK officially left the European Union after 47 years of membership.
But, this isn't a website to commemorate those 47 years of EU membership.
BRIDGES.lu is a journey
There are numerous links between Luxembourg and the UK starting with the Duke of Wellington, the treaty of London (1839) which defined Luxembourg's current borders and even a British company building real, physical, bridges in Luxembourg.
There are countless reasons why people from the UK came to work, live, build families and contribute to Luxembourg society.
And there are as many reasons why people from Luxembourg have made the UK their home.
BRIDGES.lu is here to tell all of those stories: personal or as a family, group or association.
The Projects section will list specific areas in which we are telling the story of or are creating new bridges.
The Events section will list coming events which have a bridge with the UK.
If you have a story to tell, a project or event which illustrates one of those bridges between Luxembourg and the UK please use the Contact Form to get in touch.
BRIDGES.lu is an on-going project - be sure to come back often and please subscribe to the newsletter to be kept up-to-date with all the bridges that are being built.
Thank you.
